Health Law

The health care environment has been extraordinarily dynamic for at least a decade, driven by accelerating changes in delivery and payment systems as well as by provider arrangements to address these changes. My health law practice includes health care business and regulatory counseling, representation, and consulting. I work with providers on managed care contracting issues and commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid reimbursement matters. I also advise providers on data privacy and security practices under HIPAA and Massachusetts security rules; I am available to review and negotiate EHR licenses as well as other vendor agreements. I provide counsel in fraud and abuse avoidance and general health care business contracts.

I have worked extensively on implementing initiatives for providers under health reform (both the Affordable Care Act and Massachusetts reform under Chapter 224 and other legislation), including work with the formation and operation of an accountable care organization (ACO) and other efforts to better integrate provider networks.

In addition to these services, my experience in health care operations includes an understanding of physician practice management issues. I offer a variety of consulting services that can help you understand your practice’s operations and enhance its productivity.
